In 1745, a Swedish scientist, mathematician, and false prophet, Emanuel Swedenborg said he was chosen by God to unveil scripture. Listen to what he said, “…it has been granted me of the Lord to discourse and converse with spirits and angels who are from other earths…..to be instructed by them concerning the earths….concerning the lives, customs and worship of the inhabitants thereof….
He got one thing right when he said, “These are the spirits by which men are possessed.” And interestingly he made this statement…”They are of two kinds; some are gentle and benevolent, others are wild, cruel and of GIGANTIC statute.” This was the beginning of a resurgence of the occult in Europe and the West.
Let’s see what the Bible says: John 16:13 (KJV) “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…”
Only listen to the Spirit of God.
1 John 4:1 (KJV) “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
Don’t heed anyone that is a false prophet. Their fruit must line up with their words.
1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV) “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”
False prophets don’t always wear robes or chant in temples. Sometimes they come with credentials, charisma, and clever words. But if their message doesn’t align with Scripture, it’s not from God.
Test the spirits. Guard your heart. Stay rooted in truth.
These spirits are after YOU! Can you afford to be deceived just because someone says they hear from God?
Blessings
