Restraints of Guilt

Restraints of Guilt

The king appointed a day for all those guilty of treason to come forward and receive a pardon. As one traitorous wretch walked toward the palace, his fear of incrimination increased with each step. As he came within sight of the palace, the thought of the shame he would feel when standing before the king was so overwhelming that he turned and fled. He resolved instead to simply reform his ways and in the future live in a fashion that would be acceptable to the king. With the passing of years the guilt and fear of being discovered tormented his soul. He had repented of his treason, but he had not repented toward the king.

Think about this today and we’ll talk about it tomorrow. Taken from By Divine Design by Michael Pearl
